Estate Planning
January 30th, 2019 - 6:30pm

As the third part of our series and due to the overwhelming response to our last seminar, we are focusing on continuing our discussion on Estate Planning. The focus will be on the financial aspects of estate planning.
Here are the top ten reasons for Estate Planning:
1. Choose Heirs.
2. Designate Guardians for Minor Children.
3. Establish Trusts for Minor Children and appoint a reliable Trustee.
4. Manage Affairs in the Event of Disability.
5. Ensure Children from Previous Marriages are Treated Fairly Taking Into Account All Circumstances
6. Minimize Estate Taxes and State Inheritance Taxes for Beneficiaries.
7. Protect a Family Businesses
8. Make Charitable Donations
9. Disinherit a Spouse or Child Given a Variety of Circumstances
10. Minimize Cost and Complexity of Probate
Having a Will, Power of Attorney and Health Care Power of Attorney (living will) is a great way to start to plan how your estate is managed and distributed after you pass away. Financial considerations and distribution of assets with minimal tax consequences is also very important when devising an estate plan.

The seminar will be an overview of Estate Planning and considerations that need to be made when planning how your assets are to be held and distributed. We can talk about any aspect of Estate Planning and I will be happy to answer any questions.
We will also have Christine Olarte of Edward Jones to discuss the financial planning considerations of Estate Planning and Leslie Schreckengast with Polish Perfect to give us a demonstration of nail polish that you can put on as an individual strip and lasts much longer than traditional nail polish.
